Robin Rescue

Robin (Erithacus rubecula) © Siel Wellens, 2015

This little robin flew against my window today. He was unconscious for a few minutes and than jumped back up, his chest pounding. I decided to give him a chance to recover before having to catch him and take him to a wildlife rescue centre. After some 20 minutes sitting still as a statue, he began to react to sounds and movements again. A few minutes later he flew off into the hedge, his wing stroke was strong and perfect. The improvised rescue box went back to the basement, a job well done 🙂
