Lights and shadows

Pasteleiro. Azores, Portugal

Eleven at night. Low tide, a volcanic, rocky landscape. After a series of attempts which last for a decent amount of time, you manage to get a few pictures without a tripod (not having a tripod with you at the first place is a bad habit rather difficult to explain). The moment you think there’s only one shot to complete a quite decent panorama, the light above your head-which for at least an hour hasn’t given signs of life-decides to switch on. Every light casts a shadow, they say. Or, well, it just blows a couple of ugly light beams into your night shot (!)
